Well, where do I begin? Last night we invited a couple from our church over for dinner. This was the first time since we moved here to have dinner guests in our home, so naturally, I was a little nervous. I wanted to make a nice impression and welcome this nice couple into our home. They arrived and things were going smooth. The girls were getting more and more wound up as the night went on; it was finally time to sit down and eat dinner, we blessed the food and started filling our plates full of the beautiful spaghetti and homemade meatballs we had worked on all day. After one bite of eating, the phone rang. It was another couple form our church who had been in a car accident and needed help getting home from the hospital. So Chris immediately left and went to go pick them up and see what he could do to help them. Praise the Lord they were doing ok after a pretty nasty accident. So here is where the "fun" began...as soon as the girls knew Chris was long gone they started acting up, out of control! I was so embarrassed! They were screaming, reaching in the bowl of noodles with their hands, trying to take their shirts off at the table...it was not pretty! At one point I went to talk with Kailey in her room and came back to the kitchen to find Lauryn buck naked dancing around the table while our poor guests were trying to finish their meal. Oh, I was livid with them. As soon as dinner was over, Chris got home. We immediately put the girls to bed and the rest of the evening was fine but, oh my...I was an absolute mess! It was an interesting evening. I will be surprised if anyone else from our church will accept a dinner invitation to our home. I hope so, but I can't blame them after last nights "entertainment".
I think we made an impression, just not the one I was wanting to make. Oh the joys of the terrible twos and (i haven't quite thought of the right expression)a four year old! I love my job as a full time mom and I love my girls so much, but some days I wish I could clock out and go on vacation. :)

oh my goodness!!!!
i'm sorry but that was a hilarious story.
now if the couple had kids they would totally understand.
if they don't, well, it will just give them something to think about:)
what is it about kids wanting to get naked all the time?
oh kids...
hope you are getting settled in!
can't wait to hear the next story:)
love, jenn
Atleast you know your dinner guest's will definitly be praying for you! :) Plus...the girls were just practicing thier "hostess" giftings, only in and thru the yet unrefined abilities of a 2 and 4 year old! Remember...there IS Hope! (ha-ha) I love you all, Mom.
