Truths That Keep Their Promises

"But you, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abundant in loving kindness and truth." Psalm 86:15

If there is one thing I know for sure, that is the world is searching for truth. We look everywhere. Our magazines, television, commercials, newspapers, and politicians are supposed to be truth tellers, but many of them are exposed for their lack of honesty. Never in my life have I been so exposed to so much news about people who are supposed to tell the truth, but are on trial on charges that they were not being honest to their company and their shareholders.

Fortunately I know one truth-teller who is never wrong; the Trinity-God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. If anyone of these tells you something, you CAN believe it because they aren't capable of telling a lie.

When you are trying to figure out who is or isn't speaking truth, ask this simple question; "Which one agrees with the promises of Scripture?" Turn to God's Word to compare what you are hearing to His truth. The more time we can spend in Scripture, the more discerning we will be as we make choices, face big and small decisions, and try to live a righteous life.

Thank you Lord, for being a promise-keeper!
